Clear Reasons why OBDS handles EFB data for some of the continent's largest managed fleets;
CESSNA Flight Operations
The CESSNA AIRCRAFT DEPARTMENT operates 30+ aircraft worldwide.
CESSNA pilots are SALES pilots as well as DEMO pilots. It is critical that they have all information for every aircraft type in the fleet at theior fingertips. These pilots rely on OBDS to manage the massive operational library and EFB systems for their worldwide operation.
Skyservice (operating 30+ aircraft)
DFO - BC Campell recently passed us this testimonial:
"Skyservice Business Aviation selected OBDS to provide EFB software integration for our transition to EFBs more than three years ago.
Our decision was a good one – OBDS has been responsive, professional and extremely customer-focused.
They have consistently supported the transition ensuring a safe and operationally-effective system.
I routinely recommend their services when asked how to manage the software support task when moving to and managing a paperless cockpit operation."
AHERN Rentals/Hutt Aviation - Cessna fleet operator
Ken Hall is a "Power-user" of the MFB system - AHERN Rentals maintains a complex library over 1GB and maintain it with OBDSsync and OBDS Hosted services"I'm always willing to endorse OBDS services.
It is already burdensome to maintain technical publication revisions for a fleet of similar aircraft; adding another type to the fleet will compound the problem.
Every task that can be automated represents a substantial gain in efficiency and standardization - and ultimately, safety.
Our goal is to automate the data revision process by establishing MFB as the sole-source portal for ALL operations, administrative and maintenance publications.
The OBDS rapid and reliable distribution of high priority governing documents and records of operation represents a vital element of the overall solution to the operational control issue.
Many of the static documents such as training records, operations manuals, and maintenance status can be handled very effectively using MFB.
Our document libraries are instantly available to all pilots and administrative personnel at both companies. Revisions are distributed instantly to all affected personnel.
The MFB solution to synchronization document libraries has proven to be extremely helpful. In addition I would consider virtually any proposal that might shield us from the exemplary fine levied against TAG/AMI in a controversial case.
A fine that was levied, in part, because TAG/AMI allegedly failed to produce records supporting aircraft maintenance status and crew qualification documents for flights that had already departed
(note: the records may have been correct, legal and retrievable upon reasonable notice, but unfortunately TAG/AMI could not prove that they reviewed those records prior to dispatch).
This type of situation is one of many reasons that we use the OBDS/MFB solution for document administration and access from remote locations.
MFB is useful far beyond the cockpit; it is an extremely effective administrative tool, and a simple solution to many of the operational control issues that have recently become high-priority for USA charter operators."
Experience has shown these and MANY other companies that it is more practical OBDS host and deliver Flt Ops content direct to EFB than to integrate with internal networks.
